If you're also new to Giant Sand, this recording sounds like the aforementioned bands but with more of a harsher alternative rock, straight forward and mainstream sound. With this show, you won't find the strangeness, eclectic and unusual arrangements of Calexico or FODM. If you like mellower and more psychedelic music like that of Calexico and FODM, check out Giant Sand's October 15th, 2004 show -it's by far the best that I've come across in the Internet Archive. That written, there is a good variety of music on this one, from slow rock to jazz and punk.
